Jennifer Templeton Dunn, JD, Ph.D.(c)

Jennifer Dunn is a teacher, a lawyer, and a social scientist. Her research and advocacy focus on issues at the intersection of reproductive health, rights, and policy. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. Her dissertation project traces how the U.S. health care system constructs and reproduces separate clinical spaces and standards of care for pregnant patients enrolled in public versus private insurance. Jennifer sees an imperative in engaging in multidisciplinary collaborations to investigate and problem-solve the social and legal challenges facing us today. She was the Founding Director of the California Abortion Alliance (2007-2021), the Executive Director of the UCSF/UC Hastings Consortium on Law, Science, & Health Policy (2009-2012), and the Director of the APC Initiative and HWPP Project (2005-2009). Jennifer has taught and mentored graduate students at UC Berkeley Law, UCSF Global Health Sciences, and UC Hastings Law.

Tracy Youngston, FNP-BC, Ph.D(c)

Tracy Youngston, is a second-year PhD student in Nursing, a Family Nurse Practitioner at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, and serves as an Emergency Trauma Nurse in the Navy. She was a teen mother and is a proud first-generation Haitian woman. She received her Master's in Nursing in 2017 as a Nurse Practitioner and entry into UCSF's doctoral program in the Fall of 2020. Her nursing background is in emergency medicine, however, Tracy's passion and advocacy run deep for girls of color. She is the Founder of Transform, Elevate, & Achieve (T.E.A.) Academy which is geared towards at-risk adolescent girls of color breaking the statistical "norms" of lack of education, financial literacy, and engagement in high-risk behaviors. Her research interests include racial and ethnic health disparities and resources for indigenous families in the Black community. She enjoys cooking and spending time with friends and family.
