UCSF/KPNC Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) Accepting Applications

BIRCWH accepting 2020 applications – SOI due 2/21


The UCSF/KPNC Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) K-12 program is soliciting applications for appointments starting in July 2020. The goal of the program is to develop independent women’s health investigators at UCSF and the KPNC Division of Research. Scholars’ research may be translational, clinical, behavioral, population- or policy-focused, and must be based in the US. We encourage individuals from NIH-defined underrepresented minority groups to apply.

 

The program will provide funding for two years (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2022). Annual program support is around $75,000 in salary plus $25,000 in project expenses. The first step of an application is a statement of intent due by 5 pm Pacific Time on February 21, 2020.

 

A statement of intent includes:

  1. Application face page
  2. Curriculum vitae formatted per UCSF Guidelines
  3. Letter of intent (maximum of 3 pages):

·         Brief background on your interest in women’s health, including your area of expertise and prior training.

·         Why you are interested in a K-level award at present.

·         General outline of what you envision for additional training during the K-award.

·         Brief background on your research to date and the direction you propose for your research during a K-award period.
